It has been our pleasure to introduce thousands of people new to diving with the PADI DSD program, we look forward to you joining us as well.

The DSD program includes elementary information in a short but thorough briefing, and skills practice in confined water followed by a shallow dive in the Marine Protected Area of Cabo. PADI allows, under the best conditions, an instructor to participant ratio of 1 to 4. At Barefoot the instructor to participant ratio is typically 1 to 2, allowing for hands on assistance to our new divers, ensuring your first experience will be the best possible.

During the briefing you will learn about breathing underwater, hand signals, how to fin efficiently, the best method of breathing calmly and more. Then we will get into the shallow water at our confined site and practice skills in water you can stand up in. This is required by PADI, for your safety and comfort.

Once you have practiced the elementary skills in shallow water we will make our way to the slightly deeper sites to encounter all the beautiful reef fish, corals, sponge covered rocks, lobsters and lots more. Here in Cabo we say ‘On a bad dive you may only see 5,000 fish…’ You even have the option to organize a HD DVD of your dive experience, a wonderful momento of your first breaths underwater!

Once you have completed the PADI Discover SCUBA Diving experience you can go out for another dive under similar circumstances, or enroll in a dive training course to earn a dive certification. Great news, your DSD experience can count towards certification, so DSD really is a great way to start diving in Cabo San Lucas. Next step is the PADI Scuba Diver course – beware, diving is addictive!
