We all start into diving at the same place, Open Water Diver, and have improved our skills over time by challenging ourselves to learn more, expand our skills and see more of the underwater world. Master Scuba Diver is the pinnacle of recreational diving, truly an achievement worthy of recognition.

All student divers enrolling in the PADI Master Scuba Diver program are required to fill out the PADI Medical Statement. Please download and print out a copy. If you answer YES to any of the conditions you will need to see your doctor for clearance before we can begin your scuba training.

There is no specific course for the PADI MSD rating, instead it is an award for having improved your dive skills beyond those of the average diver. To become a Master Scuba Diver you need to be at least 12 years old to begin and:

Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver
Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver
Have completed at least 5 PADI Specialty Diver courses
Have logged at least 50 dives
