PADI Underwater Photography Course, Cabo San Lucas
Possibly our favorite thing to do underwater – shoot photos! It is not easy, but combine the knowledge of the PADI diving photography course with pre-dive set up clinics, structured skill sessions on the dives and post dive editing training and your learning curve shoots right up.
There are two options for this course, online theory study with PADI © eLearning or using the manual. Either option is followed by a module with one of the Barefoot Dive Pro Specialty Instructors going over key information in preparation for the dives.
During the pre-dive equipment training we will go over camera function, camera preparation and housing preparation. You will practice shooting on land, to get used to the camera’s housing controls so that underwater it all feels more intuitive.
Then it is off to dive! There are two dives included in the course, the first one is very shallow, allowing you to focus on the techniques for get clear, crisp shots that are full of color. We usually dive off Cannery Beach, near the wreck which has tons of fish, corals, sponge and invertebrate life to shoot – good macro.
Second dive will be slightly deeper, typically we prefer either Pelican Rock for the sponge covered walls with so much macro life or if the weather is good we can also dive Lands End and you can try some faster shutter speeds to catch some of the sea lion action.
Post dive we will go over your experience diving and shooting underwater images. This is also when we will look through your shots, learn how to adjust them using a variety of computer programs and burn your pictures to your very own CD for great memories of your PADI underwater photo course in Cabo San Lucas.
